S Series Key Cabinet Range

This is a review of the Rottner Comsafe S series key cabinet range, an affordable yet versatile series of key boxes great for small or medium businesses wanting to secure and organise their keys in a safe place.

The S range comes with a key index inside the device and labelled with numbers and colours to make it easier to organise and identify which key is needed is a speedy fashion. This is great for facilities managers who have a large number of keys and need to maintain a low-level security for access control to various employees such as admin staff etc. As well as the hooks in the cabinet being numbered there are individual key fobs for each set of keys so that they can easily be returned to the correct place in the device.

The S series is fully wall mountable and comes with fixings so that you can easily secure it and prevent theft or movement of the key cabinet. Other security features this series has to offer are, galvanized steel body and door, the cabinet door has a cylinder lock which comes supplied with 2 keys to prevent unauthorised entry, hidden hinges and a circulating edge to help avoid any forced entry to the cabinet.

Keytronic Key Cabinet Range

The keytronic key boxes are ideal for use on medium-sized businesses with a digital keypad interface the device totally eliminates the need to use a key on a day-to-day basis with the cabinet to gain access to the organised keys within. This cabinet unlike the S range also has a deposit slot, making it easier for the admin to keep access control, by allowing people to deposit the keys instead of accessing the cabinet to return them.

The advantage of having a digital keypad is that there are over 1,000,000 key code possibilities along with the facility to allow master and user codes to be programmed into the key cabinet. The device is also fully wall mountable and strong heavy-duty bolts are supplied for fixing. The body of this key box is 2mm thick and is made of galvanized steel. Both of these key cabinets have an insurance rating of £1,000.

Overall depending on your business either one of these key cabinets can suit your office or workplace. Personally I feel that they keytronic is slightly better in value due to its price and the technology it uses.
